IS THE FOOD + EXERCISE PLAN FOR VEGANS TOO?

Yes! All the recipes in the Food + Exercise Plan contain vegan substitutes.

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE CERTAIN FOODS?

If you don't like onions, we don't care. Just to put it plain and simple, eat what you DO LIKE - just as long as it's #revita5approved. We recommend subbing vegetables for vegetables and fruit for fruit to keep the proportions under wraps.

IS THE FOOD + EXERCISE PLAN A JUICE CLEANSE?

No, the plan is not a juice cleanse. Although we will implement green juices and smoothies into your life, we focus on real food eating and creating lasting kitchen habits. 

 

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT SUPPLEMENTS?

We believe in supplementation when necessary - a good probiotic or a vitamin or two when needed, however go ahead and break up with your megaman GNC waste-of-money-packet. Let's give real food a try first!

I HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES, CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE?

Absolutely. If you can't do peanuts, then don't do them. Substitute a nut you can have. We are all about making it work for YOUR life, not ours. Make this program your own!

I HAVE A FAMILY OF FIVE, DO YOU ACCOUNT FOR FAMILIES?

All REVITA5 Challenges are formulated for 1 person, however, many of our Tribe members have families. Triple up the recipes and make it a family affair. We love seeing little ones drinking green smoothies!

I WORK ALL THE TIME, AND HAVE NO TIME TO COOK!

If you work all the time and have no time to cook, then we have a much bigger problem on our hands 🙂 If you are the workaholic type, you are in luck. Our eating guides are formulated for the traditional 9-6er. All we ask is that you dedicate TWO nights a week to get in the kitchen. If that simply doesn't work, you can order out following our guidelines of course.

I CAN'T HAVE GLUTEN, CAN I STILL USE THE FOOD + EXERCISE PLAN?

Again, YES! We love our gluten-free friends. Brown rice and quinoa will be your best friends!

WHAT ABOUT DRINKING ALCOHOL?

If you are of age to drink, then YES, alcohol is permitted. We address all of the beverage info in the REVITA5 CHALLENGE GUIDES.

I AM TRAINING FOR A RACE, CAN YOUR EATING GUIDES TAILOR TO MY NEEDS?

Athletes are welcomed here at REVITA5. We have options for protein additions, extra calories, and real food supplements that give extra fuel for your training purposes. Say goodbye to fake protein powders...waste of money!

 

I AM A MOM, WILL I HAVE TIME TO DO THIS?

Hi mama! Yes ma'am you will. We formulated our eating guides to make cooking EASIER, not HARDER. Dedicate a couple nights a week to the kitchen and you are SET! In fact, you may find that our challenges help you FREE up time with your little ones.

HOW MANY CALORIES DO YOUR EATING GUIDES CONTAIN DAILY?

While we do not LOVE counting calories over here, they are about 1600-1800 calories a day assuming you are also participating in your fitness schedule.

No. Absolutely not. REVITA5 promotes a lifestyle change where you can revitalize your life forever.

DO I NEED FANCY KITCHEN SUPPLIES?

You will need a blender and a few other odds and ends you more than likely have at home, but we cover all that in your Food + Exercise Plan.

REVITA5 is a health and fitness tracker that uses the power of heart rate variability to transform your body and revitalize your life. It focuses on real food eating, smart exercise and recovery. We are a Tribe of people committed to getting healthy without dieting and deprivation.

WHAT'S THE VITALITY SCORE?

REVITA5 is grounded in modern science and tracks a bio-marker called heart rate variability (HRV) as a verifiable indicator of the stress level in an individual’s cardiac and nervous system.

REVITA5 gives you the ability to use exercise as a tool for losing weight, toning up and revitalizing your body without putting the body at risk for burnout.

For example, if a person’s HRV indicates a high degree of stress and lack of recovery they will get a “REST” vitality score. If a person is somewhat recovered but not ready for higher intensity training they get a “BE MODERATE”. If a person is fully recovered and ready to push the limits they will get a “GO HARD”.

HOW CAN I BENEFIT FROM USING THE VITALITY SCORE?

Three words: REVITALIZE YOUR LIFE. By listening closely to your heart using HRV, REVITA5 allows you to give your body exercise, food, and lifestyle advice based on your needs. Once you are giving your body a lifestyle it can cope with, your health will improve, and you will not lose nearly as much time to over reaching related illness (such as coughs & colds) or disease.

It’s hard for anyone to judge whether they are under or over doing their health and fitness goals. While the first leads to disappointing performance, the second can result in increased sick days through colds, persistent fatigue or worst case, substantial periods of layoff from work and life.
The easiest way to start using HRV to guide your training is to take a measurement using REVITA5 every morning, then exercise and go about your day as normal, according to your own heartbeat's advice. If your score drops significantly, take this as an early warning that you are overloading your system. A small drop is OK as long as you rest and recover.

Being healthy and vibrant is all about stress and recovery and a GO HARD could lower your number. But if it stays low even with rest you could be on the edge of trouble. Using REVITA5 daily to monitor stress is the best thing you can do to REVITALIZE your life for the long haul.

WHAT IS HRV?

Heart rate variability, or HRV for short, describes the way your heart beat varies – both at rest, and during exercise. Contrary to popular belief, the healthy heart does not beat like a metronome, but is constantly changing the time between beats in a rhythmic way. These changes are driven by the nervous system, constantly trying to find the most efficient way for the body to operate. The fact that the nervous system makes itself visible through HRV makes the heart a wonderful barometer of how hard your body is trying to preserve its equilibrium.
HRV has been used in hospitals for many years, mostly to help very sick patients whose beats are very regular, with little HRV, and has also been used in high end systems to help elite athletes. The widespread availability of heart rate monitor chest straps and the computing power packed into an iPhone mean that competitive & recreational athletes can now benefit from the big improvements in training effectiveness that HRV monitoring brings.
Intensive, or high volume, exercise will stress & tire your body, and this stress is reflected as reduced HRV. Recovery, which is vital both for improved athletic performance and general good health will cause your daily HRV to rise, letting you know that you are both getting fitter and avoiding staleness & sickness.

WHO USES HRV?

Top amateur and professional athletes from sports such as running, football, cycling and rowing use heart rate variability to help assess their training load & readiness for matches and competition. HRV analysis is used extensively in sports science research to assess the body’s adaptation to training by becoming fitter.
HRV analysis is normally performed under coach supervision using specialized software that requires a sports science background and specific training. The REVITA5 app is an easy to use product that allows the benefits of HRV training to be gained by anyone with an iPhone or iPod touch and a desire to increase their fitness and vitality.

HOW DOES HRV COMPARE WITH MORNING PULSE MEASUREMENT?

Taking your morning pulse is a classic check for signs that your body is under stress & needs recovery, and is probably performed by at least 50% of experienced runners & other athletes. A morning pulse rate a few beats per minute higher than normal is a sign to go easy. The trouble is that there are multiple factors able to influence your heart rate and it is not that easy to perform the test accurately or to track when changes become significant enough to take action.
You can think of the Vitality Score as a more sensitive, up to date morning pulse test where the readings and calculations are all done with high precision and stored to develop personalized decision making criteria on when it is right for you to train, how hard to train, and when to rest.
Just remember when comparing the two that a higher HRV number is a good thing, indicating better rest & recovery, whereas a higher resting heart rate is bad and may indicate accumulated fatigue.
